Building Beasts!

For all of those Creative Writing students who’re about to craft tales about discovering a never-before-seen organism, check out the video embedded above! Produced by Mental Floss, the video offers a look at twenty-three unusual animals and may help kickstart your writing! And that’s always a good thing, right?

Aye-aye! (Watch the video and you’ll get the joke.)

Julius Caesar

This week will see the Freshman Honors classes taking the JULIUS CAESAR exam! For your preparation purposes, please make use of the following format guide:

Background Information/Key Facts (10 Points)
– Literary Devices & Poetic Forms (20 Points)
– Quotation ID/Analysis (30 Points)
– Short Answers (20 Points)
– Open Response (20 Points)

Personal Manifesto!

The Creative Writing students are about to embark upon the journey of self-discovery known as the PERSONAL MANIFESTO! To complete this assignment, students will have to identify (and articulate) the core values to which they are most inherently tied. For further elaboration, check out the assignment sheet.

To begin the process of thinking about what we believe (and why!), the Creative Writing classes will watch the playlist posted above. In these videos, various individuals express ideas about who they are, what they believe, and what they live for. These are some of the very topics that we will contemplate in completing out own Personal Manifesto projects.

Heavy stuff.
